Chiikawa: Volume 9 Releases in November With Special Edition
The special edition includes a postcard book with 24 cards and a sticker; the cover of the extra is drawn by Nagano.
“Chiikawa: Nanka Chiisakute Kawaii Yatsu” gets its ninth manga volume in Japan on November 20, 2026. Kodansha is releasing the new volume in parallel as a regular edition and as a special edition with an additional postcard book.
As Anime!Anime! and an official announcement from Kodansha report, Volume 9 includes, among other things, episodes from the series’ “Parallel World” arc. The manga is by Nagano and is published by Kodansha in A5 format. The regular edition costs 1,375 yen in Japan and carries the ISBN 978-4-06-545553-1.
Special Edition With 24 Postcards
The special edition is titled “Nanka Kakete Kazareru Postcard Book-tsuki Tokusouban.” Its contents include 24 postcards and a sticker. Nagano drew the cover of the enclosed postcard book specifically for this edition. Kodansha lists a price of 3,410 yen for the special edition and the ISBN 978-4-06-545550-0.
The postcards feature, among others, Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi. Kodansha describes the extra as a postcard book whose individual images can be sent as well as displayed or kept separately.
The release falls in a period when the franchise is also strongly present in cinemas. The current film “Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu” had grossed 12.2 billion yen and reached 8.49 million viewers after 38 days in Japan, as already summarized in the aninew report on the theatrical run.
Neither the Anime!Anime! report nor the Kodansha announcement names a German release date for Volume 9. The stated details refer to the Japanese market.
