VTuber Style: Publisher Covers 3D Lives for Up to Three Talents

VTubers without their own 3D model can also apply until November 30.

The Japanese publisher Appli Style is funding the production of its own 3D live show for up to three VTubers. The company behind the magazine Gekkan VTuber Style launches the "3D Live Support Project" on October 28, 2026. At most three talents will be selected from the applications, and the publisher will cover their production costs in full.

The initiative is aimed at independent VTubers as well as talents who already belong to an agency. An existing 3D model is not a requirement: its development is also part of the planned service package. For agency members, however, prior coordination with their organization is required.

From 3D Model to Finished Concert

According to the official announcement from Appli Style, the support covers modeling, music production, vocal recordings, motion capture recordings, and the creation of the concert videos. The stage presentation can be built with Unity or Unreal Engine. The magazine will also take part in promoting the performances.

Fully pre-recorded shows with, in principle, five songs and presenter segments are planned. Possible commemorative items such as T-shirts, towels, and an accompanying photo book are also envisioned. According to the publisher, the selected participants will incur neither participation nor production costs. However, this is a performance within a project organized by Appli Style, not freely available funding for one's own events.

Applications can be submitted from October 28 until November 30, 2026, at 23 Japan time. Registration takes place via the official project documents and application form. Minors require the consent of their legal guardians.

New Attempt After a Crowdfunding Campaign

As reported by KAI-YOU, VTuber Style already organized a similar funding project in 2024 with the crowdfunding platform Ubugoe. At that time, four of 48 applicants were selected, and production was financed through supporter contributions. For the current project, Appli Style is bearing the costs itself.

The financial and technical effort is a hurdle, especially for smaller VTubers. Such production conditions differ from concerts by established talents, such as the first solo concert of Hakui Koyori. Virtual event worlds such as Tsukuyomi also show how differently digital performances can be designed. The new support project explicitly focuses on producing pre-recorded 3D shows for selected VTubers.
