Twisted-Wonderland: Savanaclaw premieres on December 23
The second arc spans eight episodes and places Leona Kingscholar, Ruggie Bucchi and Jack Howl at the center.
Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation continues the story on Disney+ on December 23, 2026 with Episode of Savanaclaw. Eight episodes then follow on a weekly schedule, each released on a Wednesday. The second season of the anime adaptation focuses on Savanaclaw dormitory at Night Raven College and its leader Leona Kingscholar. Disney names the exclusive premiere date and the eight-part release in the current announcement.
Savanaclaw takes center stage
The magical training institution Night Raven College has seven dormitories, each inspired by well-known Disney antagonists. Savanaclaw is modeled on the "King of Beasts" from The Lion King. At the heart of it is Leona Kingscholar, a second prince whose experiences of being overlooked shape his relationship to achievement and power.
Besides Leona, the dormitory residents Ruggie Bucchi and Jack Howl play important roles. Disney describes a scheme that does not remain confined to Savanaclaw but also affects the other dormitories. The first key visual shows the three characters in front of a stone wall and with golden magic. The new motif additionally shows figures from Heartslabyul dormitory and makes the conflicts between the groups visible.
Familiar voices and production
Yuichiro Umehara voices Leona Kingscholar, Ao Ichikawa takes on Ruggie Bucchi, and Taito Ban can be heard as Jack Howl. Animation production remains with Yumeta Company and Graphinica. Takaaki Natori is involved as chief director, Shin Katagai directs, and Yoichi Kato works on the script. The music comes from Takumi Ozawa.
The series is based on the manga adaptation of the mobile game Disney Twisted-Wonderland. Yana Toboso was involved in the original game, who is also known as the creator of Black Butler. aninew.de has already reported on the 20th anniversary of the Black Butler manga.
Continuation of the Disney anime series
The first story arc, Episode of Heartslabyul, was released in October 2025. It deals with the dormitory modeled on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. Disney has also confirmed production of a third arc titled Episode of Octavinelle.
The franchise also continues beyond the anime adaptation: most recently, Disney Twisted-Wonderland revealed a new event character. At the same time, Disney+ is expanding its anime lineup, including the announced Kingdom Hearts series.
