Made in Abyss: New Trailer Reveals Theme Song and Cast
The first film of the new theatrical series opens on October 23, 2026 in Japan.

„Made in Abyss: Mezameru Shinpi“ has received a new main trailer that also confirms the theme song and two more cast members. The first film of the new theatrical series opens on October 23, 2026 in Japan.
The official website lists the theme song as „Chain of the Abyss“. The piece comes from series composer Kevin Penkin and was created together with Mori Calliope. Penkin is responsible for the composition and arrangement; the lyrics were written by Penkin and Calliope together. The song can also be heard in the new main trailer.
As an official YouTube upload, the previously released second teaser on the KADOKAWA Anime channel is currently clearly verifiable:
This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.
Two New Voices for the Film
The trailer also expands the confirmed cast. Sumire Morohoshi voices Tepaste, while Takaki Hoshino takes on the role of Cravali. The previously known lead roles include Miyu Tomita as Riko, Mariya Ise as Reg, Shiori Izawa as Nanachi and Misaki Kuno as Faputa.
Production remains with Kinema Citrus. Masayuki Kojima directs, and Hideyuki Kurata writes the screenplay. Kevin Penkin again handles the music. The basis is the manga by Akihito Tsukushi.
„Mezameru Shinpi“ forms the first part of a new „Made in Abyss“ theatrical series and continues the anime story after the second TV season. The official website gives October 23, 2026 as the theatrical release date in Japan. A German cinema release or streaming partner has not yet been announced. One week earlier, another announced anime film, „BanG Dream! Ave Mujica prima aurora“, opens in Japan in October.
In parallel, a two-week re-release of „Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul“ runs in Japan from August 7 to 20, 2026. The series thus brings one of its earlier theatrical films back to the big screen shortly before the new film.
