BLEACH: Final episodes 49 and 50 postponed to October
Aniplex justifies the schedule change with additional quality work on the series finale; until then, four selected older episodes will air.

The last two episodes of "BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War" are being postponed to October 19 and 26, 2026. The production committee confirms the new dates for episode 49 and episode 50 and justifies the change with additional quality work before the series concludes.
On TV Tokyo, episode 49 will now air on October 19 at midnight, with episode 50 following on October 26 at midnight. In the notation customary in Japan, midnight refers to the transition to the following calendar day. BS TV Tokyo will show the episodes on October 20 and 27 respectively at 12 a.m. The Japanese online release begins each time the following Tuesday at noon on the platforms listed on the official site.
Aniplex explains the postponement by saying the team wants to further improve quality at the story's climax and complete the series in the best possible form up to the final episode. Adjusted dates for other Japanese television broadcasters are to be announced later. The announcement does not name a specific change for a German-language release.
Four episodes bridge the break
Until the main storyline returns, TV Tokyo is showing a four-part "Climax Selection". On September 19, episode 7 "BORN IN THE DARK" airs, and on September 26, episode 28 "KILL THE KING". On October 5, episode 46 "THE END" follows, and on October 12, the just-aired episode 48 "THE END TWO WORLD" is repeated.
Anime!Anime! reports on the schedule change in a look back at episode 48, which aired on September 12. This leaves two episodes after that one before the final cour concludes. Earlier, aninew had already reported on Ichigo's new form "Kessa no Ichigo" in episode 45, which Tite Kubo designed specifically for the anime version.
"BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War -The Calamity-" has been airing in Japan since July 25, 2026. The final cour is animated by PIERROT FILMS; Tite Kubo is involved as original author and overall supervisor.
