Ramen Akaneko Season 2: New Key Visual and Network Confirmed
The key visual shows the entire restaurant team along with newcomer Jewel. The continuation moves to TV Tokyo in Japan.
Ramen Akaneko has released a new key visual for its second anime season. The continuation, with the Japanese title Ramen Akaneko Sono Ni, premieres in January 2027 on the Japanese broadcast network TV Tokyo. The first season still aired on TBS.
The visual, published on November 4, 2026, comes from Michinori Chiba, who once again is responsible for character design and chief animation direction. It shows the staff of the cat restaurant, including Bunzo, Sasaki, Sabu and Hana, the tiger Krishna, and the human employee Tamako. Newly joining the ensemble in Season 2 is Jewel, another cat. The visual gathers the characters amid flying ingredients and ramen bowls.
The Restaurant Reopens in January 2027
The series is based on the manga by Angyaman, which is serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+. At its center is a ramen shop run by cats. When the human applicant Tamako presents herself there, she receives an unusual task: she is to look after the cats. Restaurant life and encounters with guests form the everyday substance of the story.
According to the official anime website, Hisatoshi Shimizu remains director. Production remains with E&H production, which is also involved in the current revival of Magic Knight Rayearth. Shigeru Murakoshi is responsible for series composition and scripts; Hirotaka Matsuoka composes the music.
Familiar Voices and a New Tomcat
Kenjiro Tsuda again voices Bunzo, Noriaki Sugiyama Sasaki, Michiyo Murase Sabu, Rie Kugimiya Hana and Saori Hayami Krishna. Kurumi Orihara again takes the role of Tamako. For the new cat Jewel, Tasuku Hatanaka has already been confirmed.
The first season aired in Japan from July to September 2024. For the upcoming season, the Japanese broadcast month is now set; an exact premiere date is not yet named on the official website. According to Crunchyroll News, the first season is available in Germany on ADN. A corresponding announcement for the second season is so far not available.
Like the recently announced Shibatsuki Bukken for 2027, Ramen Akaneko comes from the environment of the manga platform Shonen Jump+.
