33 Years Old Single Female Knight-Captain: New Anime Designs
For the tenth anniversary of the manga, Digital Shokunin presents character designs and a music video for the adaptation.
New character designs and an official music video for the anime adaptation of 33 Years Old Single Female Knight-Captain (33-sai Dokushin Onna Kishi Taichou) were released on November 6, 2026. The company Digital Shokunin is presenting the materials to mark the tenth anniversary of Amahara's manga series.
The character designs show three figures in different fantasy outfits: two wear pieces of armor, and another wears a long blue dress. Digital Shokunin is also publishing the logo of the anime adaptation. However, the announcement names neither a specific release date nor the voice cast or the animation studio in charge.
A fantasy comedy about the working life of a knight-captain
The manga centers on Mail, a 33-year-old unmarried knight-captain. Her demanding job leaves her little time for relationships or a private life. Together with her companions, she lives through a fantasy story that combines work stress and adult everyday problems with comedy.
The source material comes from Amahara, who is also known for Interspecies Reviewers and The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace. The manga is published by BookLive in the COMIC Ambre line and is still ongoing. The official manga page lists the fourth collected volume; selected chapters are also available there.
Official anniversary music video released
A standalone music video was produced for the anime adaptation, combining the characters and atmosphere of the manga source with music. The clip is published on the official YouTube channel of the project. Digital Shokunin also names the official X account @33onakishianime as the point of contact for further production news.
This video will only connect to YouTube once you play it.
In a comment, Amahara recalls having jokingly written in the afterword of the fourth manga volume about an anime adaptation for the tenth anniversary. About a week later, he was actually informed that the adaptation was going ahead. He says he is now looking forward to the release.
Other manga adaptations currently announced include Manchuria Opium Squad and Hiiragi-san Chi no Kyuketsu Jijou. For 33 Years Old Single Female Knight-Captain, in particular, the premiere date, cast, and a possible release in German-speaking countries are still pending.
